About Seoul
Seoul, the capital of the Republic of Korea, is the nation’s center of politics, economy, culture, and education. With the Han River flowing through the city and mountains surrounding it, Seoul offers a unique blend of natural beauty and modern urban charm. Inhabited since the Neolithic period, the city has long served as a key administrative hub, including as the capital of the Baekje and Joseon dynasties.
Today, Seoul is a dynamic metropolis where skyscrapers and smart subways coexist with ancient palaces, temples, and traditional markets. Notable landmarks include the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) with its futuristic architecture, the historic Gyeongbokgung Palace once home to over 7,000 rooms, and the tranquil Jogyesa Temple surrounded by centuries-old trees.
Near the event venue in the Gangnam area, visitors can also explore COEX Mall and SMTOWN to experience K-culture, enjoy a night view at Banpo Hangang Park with its iconic rainbow fountain, or visit Sebitseom, a set of floating cultural islands that blend tradition with innovation.
